Dr. C.V. Raman University is a premier science, technology and professional education University of Chhattisgarh having its campus at Bilaspur, Kargi Road-Kota. It was established as a Private University by the Government of Chhattisgarh vide its Notification No.29 of 2006 dated 3rd November, 2006. Dr. C.V. Raman University was notified on 3rd November, 2006 and formally inaugurated on 14th October, 2007. DR. C.V. RAMAN University was set up by All India Society for Electronics & Computer Technology (AISECT). The All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) is the sponsoring organization of Dr. C. V. Raman University. AISECT, established in the mid eighties is today India’s largest IT training and educational services network over 5,000 centres spread across 30 states and Union territories in India. It is named after Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, an Indian physicist and Nobel laureate. The campus is spread over an area of 33 acres of land. Apart from regular Degrees and PG programmes in Science, Art, Commerce and Management, the University focuses on newer technological subjects like Information Technology, Bio-Technology, Environmental Science and on such other modern Science and Technology areas as are in tune with changing times. The University is already running B.Ed. and B.P.Ed. programmes approved by NCTE and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications.
