Narmada Seva Yatra Launched

  1. Madhya Pradesh chief minister launched Narmada Seva Yatra at Amarkantak.
  2. The five months long Yatra aims at turning the Narmada river pollution free and unceasing river.
  3. The Narmada Sewa Yatra will create awareness about the conservation of the river. It will cover more than 1900 kilometres in 16 districts.
  4. Trees will be planted along the banks of the Narmada.

Punjab’s Bathinda Gets New Airport

  1. Union Civil Aviation Minister inaugurated the newly-built civil air terminal at Bathinda airport and the flight for Delhi-Bathinda-Delhi sector.
  2. The first flight, operated by Air India Regional, landed at the airport.

Tata Trusts, UP Govt Join Hands

  1. Tata Trusts have tied up with Uttar Pradesh govt to leverage digital platforms to strengthen the public distribution system (PDS).
  2. Under the Agreement, Tata Trusts have installed electronic Point of Sale devices (ePOS).
  3. It will ensure operation of an Aadhaar-enabled Public Distribution System (AePDS).

Govt Launches Digidhan Campaign

  1. Union IT Minister launched Digidhan Abhiyan along with Digishala TV Channel.
  2. Under Digidhan Abhiyan, it will enable every citizen,small traders & merchants to adopt digital payments in their everyday financial transactions and inform about various modes of digital payments by educating them to download,install & transact digital payments.

Haritha Keralam Mission launched

  1. On 8 December 2016, Kerala chief minister has launched Haritha Keralam Mission in Thiruvananthapuram.

Nabard support to banks for setting up PoS devices in villages

  1. With the aim to move cashless payment system, Nabard on 08 December notified that it will support aggregating about Rs. 120 crore to banks for deployment of two Point-of-Sale (PoS) devices per village.
  2. Activity will be done for one lakh villages having a population of up to 10,000.

Mahila E-haat Ties with India Post,SBI

  1. Mahila E-haat” was launched in March 2016.
  2. It was set up for the socio-economic empowerment of women. Thus to offer more payment options to incourage the buyers and easy in shipping of products, Women and Child Development Ministry has tied up with India Post and State Bank of India.
  3. The tie-up with India Post will help women selling products on the forum.

BSE’s INDIAINx Ties Up With DGCX

  1. In order to each out to the global traders in a wide range of products including the trading in INR-USD contract, INDIAINx has signed an agreement with Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange (DGCX).
  2. INDIAINx will offer derivative exchange in rupee-dollar contracts, products on gold, silver, copper and crude oil.

CCEA Extends Existing Nutrient Based Subsidy

  1. The Cabinet has approved the proposal of half yearly review of Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for Phosphatic & Potassic (P&K) fertilizers for 2016-17.
  2. It has been decided to roll over the existing subsidy rates for another six months and to ensure that any fall in the prices should be reflected by the fertilizers companies with subsequent reduction in MRPs.

Government abolishes service tax on transactions

  1. In order to give boost to less cash economy, Government abolishes service tax on transactions through debit and credit card up to 2000 rupees; Import duty on wheat also abolished from earlier 10 per cent.
  2. Service tax will be waived off on debit and credit transactions of up to Rs 2,000 to promote cashless payment.
