Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Char Dham Highway Development Programme

  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 December 2016 has laid the foundation stone of 900 kilometre long Char Dham Highway Development Programme in Dehradun to make Char Dham pilgrimage safe and convenient.
  2. Construction cost of 900 kms of national highways at an approximate cost of Rs. 12,000 crore and out of that around Rs 3,000-crore project has already been sanctioned. 
  3. Under the project, 132 bridges, 25 high flood level bridges, 107 maner bridges, and 13 bypasses will be constructed on the 900 kilometre long national highways. 
  4. At 38 landslide-prone places, protective layers will be created through steel sheets.

Assam CM Launches Atal Amrit Abhiyan

  1. Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal launched the Atal Amrit Abhiyan in Guwahati.
  2. It is a health assurance scheme which will give comprehensive coverage for six disease groups.
  3. A total of 437 diseases will be covered under this scheme divided into six disease groups.
  4. This scheme will cover all individuals in eligible families with annual income below 5 lakh rupees

Indian Government launches 2 scheme to boost e-payment

  1. Govt launches two major schemes of Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digidhan Vyapar Yojana to boost e-payment i.e aimed at encouraging people to move towards significantly higher usage of digital transactions through the offer of incentives. 
  2. Two schemes by the government Lucky Grahak Yojana for Consumers and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana for Merchants have been launched in New Delhi. 
  3. The winners will be selected on a daily and weekly basis under the Lucky Grahak Yojana and weekly basis under the Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana, up to 14th of April next year, when the schemes will culminate with a mega draw. The draws for these events will be taken out in 100 different cities around the country, in a ceremony accompanied by a digital payments adoption fair called DigiDhan Mela.

  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 Dec 2016 laid foundation stones of many key infrastructure projects, including the country's longest sea bridge and two metro lines in the city, entailing investment of over Rs 1.06 lakh crore.
  2. Projects include 22.5-km Mumbai Trans Harbour Link that will connect Mumbai's eastern suburbs with the mainland across the harbour, via a 16.5 km sea bridge and a viaduct. 

Piyush Goyal Launches Coal Mitra Portal

  1. Power Minister Piyush Goyal has launched ‘Coal Mitra’ Web Portal to facilitate Flexibility in Utilization of Domestic Coal with the aimed at optimum utilisation by private as well as public power companies of the coal.
  2. With this Government has also allowed Coal Swapping between PSUs & the Private Sector with enhance transparency.

Odisha Launches Biju Sishu Surakshya

  1. The Odisha Government launched the Biju Sishu Surakshya Yojana that is a scheme to nurture the orphan and HIV-infected children residing in different childcare institutions and orphanages.
  2. The main aim of the scheme is to facilitate care and protection towards orphans and HIV infected children of the state.

Chhattisgarh dedicates India’s first cashless bazaar to people in Raipur

  1. Chhattisgarh has launched India’s first cashless bazaar that is called as ‘Smart’ bazaar' in Raipur that consist of nearly Over 900 shops which are providing the facilities of cashless payments using POS, UPI and other digital systems to its customers. 
  2. Chhattisgarh is currently leading in the nation in training its people in digital transactions.

Gujarat government Announces Aerospace & Defence Policy

  1. The Gujarat government has announced Aerospace and Defense Policy 2016 as India is look forward for an estimated $250 billion investment in aerospace and defense sector.
  2. Government will give land at 50% for setting up units & 100% rebate of stamp duty for this industry and 100% relief in taxes for a period of 10 yrs & exemption in electricity duty in order to attract 10-15% investment in Gujarat.

  1. India & Kyrgyzstan have signed six MoU including in the fields of tourism,agriculture & food industry,youth development,broadcasting & exchange of audio-visual programmes.
  2. The agreements were inked after delegation level talks between President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev & PM Modi in New Delhi.
