J.R.N. Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University is a university which has been inspired by educational institutes like Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Gurukul Kangdi, Jamia Islamia and Shantiniketan. Inspired by these and their founders, Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar (Jannu Bhai) established the 'Rajasthan Vidyapeeth' as ‘Hindi Vidyapeeth’ on 21st August 1937 to uplift the down-trodden common man in the feudal state of Mewar. The institute started as a night study centre for the elementary, secondary and advanced courses in the national language Hindi. As time passed J.R.N. Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University grew into a large complex of more than 50 institutions spread over several districts of Rajasthan.
