Davangere University is a public state university and approved by the UGC and AICTE. It is located in Davangere, Karnataka. It was established in the year 2008 by the government of Karnataka. It has Davangere and Chitradurga districts as its jurisdiction and is headquartered at Davangere. Hostorically, Davangere University was a post-graduate centre of the University of Mysore from 1979 to 1987 and functioned as a post-graduate centre of Kuvempu University from 1987 to 2009. The Univesity’s main campus ‘Shivagangotri’ is about 12 km from Davangere and 60 km from Chitadurga. It has two constituent colleges.
