Explanation: The first edition of Summit of the Americas was held in 1994 at Miami (US) after which series of international summits held involving heads of state from North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. This edition is assumed to be important as this was the first time that Cuba took participated in the Summit. Thus it became the first-ever Summit of the Americas where all 35 pan-American countries took part.

Explanation: Social Progress Index (SPI) - whoes data is also an alternative to GDP is a comprehensive rating of countries based on indicators of well-being such as health, water and sanitation, personal safety, access to opportunity, tolerance, inclusion, personal freedom and choice. After Norway at the top of the rankings, came Sweden, Switzerland and Iceland. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached over Rs 101 crore worth of bank balance in connection in which probe in the Speak Asia online marketing scam case?: Money laundering probe

Explanation: The Singapore-based firm is being probed by the ED and other agencies for allegedly defrauding about Rs 700 crore worth funds of investors and alleged to have duped over 24 lakh investors and the amount of scam has been pegged at Rs 2,276 crore. Thus, the central probe agency had registered a criminal case against the firm, its officials and few others in 2012 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). According to the police complaint, Speak Asia had allegedly remitted over Rs 900 crore to Singapore. The money was sent from India to the banks in Singapore and from there to Dubai, Italy and UK. However, the money came back from UK again to UAE (Dubai) and to India.
